Stair Balusters and the options to avail

But, stair balusters aren’t just meant for the style cautious guild. In fact, it came into existence for another reason (an important one) - safety. Balusters fill in the huge gap between the ‘hold on rod’ and the floor in a better way than what a simple railing would and that means the next time your kid slips himself or herself down , there’s a blockade at one side.

Now, what if the blockade’s beautiful? Well, here come the modern day stair balusters. Elegant, strong and stylish! There are various types of balusters currently available. The classification can primarily be done on the basis of the material used and then on the umpteen number of designs in each type of balusters!

The types of balusters

The first type (on the basis of the material used) should be wooden balusters. Despite being a traditional one, it’s still available in the market and is preferred by a whole lot of people. Modern day designers are capable to amend the wood beautifully (with various designs and varnish coats) and give it a contemporary or aesthetic look as per preference.

Metal balusters (Iron especially) are the less opted one, due to maintenance difficulties however a good alternative would be an aluminum balusters. Aluminum balusters are strong yet light and can be available in market in names like arc, baroque, colonial etc. Stainless steel is another alternative for metals.

Transparency is a fad and thus, glass made balusters is an ‘in’ thing of late. Thick safety glass, transparent Perspex glass is used extensively for balusters and glass adds on a lot of sheen and sleekness to the balusters.
